Summer is just around the corner. Which means there is no better time to start planning those BBQs and neighborhood get togethers. Why not accompany those get togethers with a little Sparkling Fruit Sangria? Because let’s be real, everyone loves wine!

Who doesn’t love Sangria? It’s such a classic and delicious beverage and is perfect for your upcoming summer picnics and BBQ’s. You can keep your recipe simple, or go all out and make it stunningly beautiful. Wine or Champagne, Red or White, Cheap or Expensive…the possibilities and combinations are truly endless!

Fruit Choices

For me, I love adding fresh or frozen fruits to the pitcher. Fruit not only makes the pitcher look more aesthetically pleasing, but adds to the overall flavor! Plus, frozen fruit helps keep the sangria nice and cold on those hot summer days. Some of the most popular sangria fruits are strawberries, raspberries, oranges, lemons and pineapples. To add to the festivities, try using a cookie cutter shape to carve out solid fruits like melon or pineapple. Kind of like your own edible arrangement, but in sangria form. Truthfully, it’s a win-win!

Universal Drink

The most beautiful thing about sangria? It’s universal. No matter how you make it, you can tailor it to fit your mood and it will still taste incredible. Make a smaller size for a night in with the girls, or a pitcher for a neighborhood BBQ. Make it your own and your girls will never be disappointed. I mean, who can be disappointed when wine is involved?

Sparkling Fruit Sangria

Check out this simple and inexpensive Sparkling Fruit Sangria recipe that is a big hit on those hot summer days.

Ingredients

  • Orange, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 lemon, thinly sliced
  • Blueberries, 1 cup
  • Raspberries, 1 cup
  • 10 large strawberries, sliced
  • Orange juice, 1 cup
  • Bottle sweet white wine
  • Bottle your favorite champagne

Directions

Place all fruit and orange juice in a large pitcher or bowl, add wine and allow to sit in the refrigerator for 3-24 hours. Right before serving, add champagne.
