Disney fans rejoice! Disney announced that they will be joining the Netflix world and launching an online platform later this year. Subscribers will have access to Disney’s entire library of movies. Yes, you’ll be able to watch everything from Snow White to Captain Marvel. Now, that is the kind of binge watching I won’t feel guilty about.
CEO, Bob Iger, announced this past Friday that the entire Disney library will be available on the new streaming platform. Traditionally, they would release films to home video for a limited time before locking them into “the vault.” But now, every single movie will be available any time you want to watch them. Even new films will air on the platform.
When asked about the price, Iger said that they plan on launching it substantially below the price range of Netflix. Currently, the basic price of Netflix is $8.99 and the premium price is $15.99.
A preview of the movies that will be included can be found here.
A launch date has not yet been set. However, stay in the know by subscribing to their mailing list here.
