If you haven’t seen at least one Instagram post in the last few days tagged with the location Coachella, I dare you to take a shot every time you see one! Just kidding, please don’t, your liver will be destroyed. But, you get the point. Located at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, this popular music festival has been around since 1999. So what’s all the fuss about?
Here are some reasons why Coachella should be one of the many places on your bucket list!
1. Music Heaven
Not only is Coachella a place scattered with random celebrities, bands and artists from all over attend this festival to perform the hottest hits of today’s generation. Where else would you see Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West, Imagine Dragons, Guns and Roses, and Beyoncé all in the same day? Surely you get your money’s worth since you get to see multiple music genres perform all in one day.
2. Fashion Festival
Obviously when someone goes on vacation or to a concert they want to look their best for pictures. However, the fashion at Coachella is by far more different than the normal attire. When deciding what to wear on your feet, don’t be too fancy with shoes. Flats, sandals, sneakers, and even barefoot will do! Accessorize lightly and don’t wear heavy clothing since the weather will most likely be hot. Jeans and a crop top, or shorts with a flowy top will be acceptable. Everyone’s style is unique, embrace yours at Coachella!
3. Great Way to Gain Recognition
Due to the amount of popularity Coachella has across the world, musicians looking to get their names out there would benefit tremendously by performing at the festival. Obviously the most attention goes to the headliners, but where Coachella really shines is in the bottom lines. Back in 2012, The Weeknd, Childish Gambino, and Kendrick Lamar were placed in the bottom lines. Don’t believe me? Look it up! You never know who will become the next biggest thing for the music generation when attending Coachella.
4. Laid-Back Vibe
There’s no other feeling than being in Southern California. The people there are so relaxed and just want to have fun. It’s hard not to when you’re surrounded by such bliss! Surely when alcohol is involved, there tends to be some ruckus somewhere. But Coachella has designated drinking areas unlike other festivals. It’s hard to have a drink on you 24/7 when seeing a show. Perhaps this is why many people choose to see what they paid for rather than hang by a bar all day in the heat. Having a drink or two to get a nice buzz going before walking to the next performance is more than enough to have fun at Coachella. Remember what you’re truly there for, the awesome music!
Happy 20th Birthday Coachella!
